Horry County police issued fewer citations during this year's five-day fall motorcycle rally compared with last year, based on figures released Monday by the police department.

Records show that officers from Horry County Police Department issued a total of 568 citations during that rally, known as The Pilgrimage, which ran from Sept. 30 through Sunday, resulting in more than $97,000 in fines, compared with a total of 1,060 citations in 2008 and $176,150 in fines. Firm wants nearly $1M from cycle-dealer site

VINELAND -- A multi-million-dollar plan in 2007 to relocate Harley-Davidson of Millville to a vacant lot here is now the center of a legal battle.

In a lawsuit filed last month, Archetto Construction Inc. claims the real estate holding company that owns the property where the motorcycle dealership was going to be built hasn’t paid multiple bills for work the contractor has completed on the project. The contracting firm is seeking roughly $1 million.
