With only a few more days available for voting in the Operation Comfort Warriors/Pepsi Refresh program, we are still in second place and “in the running” for a $250,000 grant to provide comfort items for our wounded in military hospitals and Warrior Transition Units nationwide.

We don’t know how far behind first place we are or how close the current third-place holder might be, so we must garner as many votes as possible every day until the close of voting on Sunday, February 28 at midnight.

Yesterday, the national headquarters issued a call to action to more than 300K addressees within The American Legion. I ask that each member of American Legion Riders also become a “force multiplier” by personally forwarding this notice to fellow Riders, Legionnaires, family and friends on your business and personal email address lists. Tell them of our wounded warriors' critical need for comfort items and personal clothing, and remind them that they should vote daily.

With your support and your votes, National Commander Hill will be able to make the announcement at the 2010 Washington Conference that Operation Comfort Warriors is a winner.
